At Defender On Duty (DOD), Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy
Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and
disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You
about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You. We use Your
Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service,
You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with
this Privacy Policy.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
- Application refers to Defender On Duty, the software app.
- Service refers to the Application.
- You means the individual accessing or using the Service.
2. Data We Collect
When using DOD, we collect the following data:
* Name and Mobile Number: During registration, we collect your name and
mobile number to create and authenticate your account. The mobile number
is verified using an OTP.
* Microphone Data: When DOD is in defending state, we listen for your
Safety Code through the microphone. We do not store, record, or retain
any audio data.
* Location Data: If you have granted location permissions, we collect
and share your location with your Force Members when the Safety Code is
detected. Background location data is not tracked unless specifically
allowed by the user.
* Contact Data: If you have granted access to your contacts, we access
your contacts to enable you to select Force Members.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to provide the DOD services effectively:
* Name and Mobile Number: Used for registration, authentication, and
user identification.
* Microphone Data: Used only to detect the Safety Code. No audio is
stored or shared.
* Location Data: Used to send your current location to your Force
Members during emergencies.
* Contact Data: Used to allow you to select Force Members from your
contact list.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not share your data with any third party companies or
organizations except:
* Force Members: Your name, mobile number and location (if provided) are
shared with the contacts you select as Force Members.
* For business transfers: If the Company is involved in a merger,
acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We
will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes
subject to a different Privacy Policy.
* Law Enforcement: If required by law, we may share your data with law
enforcement or governmental authorities.
* Other legal requirements: The Company may disclose Your Personal Data
in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation
- Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public
- Protect against legal liability
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
* Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data at any time.
After you login into the app, you can navigate to the Settings menu and
click on Delete account option. However, emergency notifications already
sent to Force Members cannot be recalled.
* Revoking Permissions: You can revoke microphone, location, and contact
permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so
may limit app functionality.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data from
unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no
method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we
cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not
knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under
the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that
Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We
become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the
age of 13 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to
remove that information from Our servers.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you
of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the App and on this
page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any
changes. Continued use of the app following any changes indicates
acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. Changes to this Privacy Policy
are effective when they are posted on this page.
